Anchor Point is the western most point to which you can drive on the North American continent. In the summer of 1787 Captain James Cook and crews of the Resolution and Discovery sailed into the Inlet looking for a Northwest Passage. Anchor Point got its name after the famous explorer lost a kedge anchor to the awesome tidal currents found here.
